Gardening!

I've always harbored this desire to have a garden like the Barefoot Contessa. I love the idea of reading a recipe then going out back and picking the herbs for it. Last Sunday the weather was lovely and sunny so we went to Home Depot to start my "garden" (and by that I mean my collection of potted plants).

We found this old bench in our garage. It's perfect until the weather is nice enough to move the pots outside.

From l-r: Strawberries, pansies, jalapenos, and italian parsely

Up close shot of strawberries. There are already 8 berries on the plant!

Mine and Shannon's matching gardening tools. Mine is the green. My favorite are the sheers. They have that lovely springy retraction.

  1. nice. I am trying to revitalize the indoor garden I started. I was doing really well and then thinks kinda went kaput! But I am learning by trial and error.

What I've learned.....the beginning of April is not clear of frost in Iowa.....cats should not use your indoor garden for their litter box and/or adventure.......and snap peas are a bitch to untangle once they are on a trellis that is way to small to support them....hopefully, you two will learn from my mistakes. haha

love the garden tools, by the way.

    Keep growing.

  3. How's it all going in the garden? I am going to do a garden blog update, and I think you should, too.
